He was predeceased by: his father Joseph Donovan; his brother William O. Coats; and his niece Claudia. He is survived by: his wife Rae Coats of Toledo; his children, Nedra Coats of Toledo and Tom (Danielle) of Tiffin; and his nieces and nephews, Debbie, Lucy, William and Robert.
