He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Lofton and Mable Lofton (Shiley); his wife Edna J. Adair; his son Mervin "Butch" Lofton, Jr.; his daughter-in-law Lottie Lofton; his siblings, Ray Eldon, Dalton, Charles, Clarabelle Cantrell and Mary Fitch; and his granddaughter Amanda Criblez.
He is survived by: his children, Kenneth Lofton (Julie) of Vanlue, Kevin Lofton of Tiffin, Scott Lofton (Lori) of New Albany, Jeanne Barnett of Tiffin, Dianna Criblez of Tiffin and Terri Stancil of Reno, NV; his daughter-in-law Molly Lofton; and his sister Joyce Runion. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren.
