He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles V. Long and Helen E. Long (Werley); his wife Norma J. Stover; his siblings, Charles Long, Jr., William Long, Carl Long, Sr. and Beatrice Long; his great grandchild Rose Martin Rutter; and his stepgreat-grandchild Brantley O'Connell.

He is survived by: his daughters, Cheryl "Cheri" Breidenbach (David) of Tiffin and Tammy O'Connell (Sean) of Fremont; his siblings, Donald Long (Mary Lou) of Dayton and Nina Stalsworth of Tiffin; his sister-in-law Bonnie Long of Sycamore; his grandchildren, Lisa Grills (Caleb), Chris Krupp, Katie Rutter (Brian) and Joel Breidenbach; his stepgrandchildren, Brandyn O'Connell (Marah) and Nolan O'Connell; his great grandchildren, Darryn, Trenton and Ellen Grills; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Bentley, Cooper, Marcus O'Connell and Diane Jaeck. He is also survived by friend and companion since 2008; and many nieces and nephews.
