He was predeceased by: his stepsiblings, Richard Hartzell and Julia Bish. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn M. Mathias (Yost); his son Christopher H. Mathias (Malissa); his grandson Dylan J. Mathias of Tuttle, OK.; and his children, Louis Mathias, Jr. (Judith), Joseph Mathias, Donna Pryor, Barbara Roberts (Jim), Robert Mathias (Lois), Carol Scherger (Dennis) and John Mathias (Jill).
