He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Lawson and Mimi Lawson (Hinkle); and his siblings, Harold, James, Billy and Juanita Denton.

He is survived by: his spouse Windell (Perry); his daughters, Teresa Kay Lawson-Pate (Robert) of Leesburg, FL and Vickie Michelle Comer (Christopher) of Tiffin; his grandchildren, Brandi Cranston (Douglas) of Ottawa, Samantha Marie Griffin of Toledo and Chase Comer of Tiffin; his great grandchildren, Quinn and Nora Cranston; and his brother John Lawson of Whitley City, Kentucky..
