He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Shane and Mabel Shane (Shaffer); his close friend Donna Gerber; and his siblings, David Shane and Joyce Shane.
He is survived by: his children, Brian Shane of Tiffin, Rhonda Tiell (Chad) of Tiffin, Jason Shane of Fostoria, Kristal Fitch (Randy) of Tiffin and Laura Sims (Robert Sours) of Fostoria; his sisters, Carolyn Thallman (Kenny) of Tiffin and Joan Hart (Ed) of Madisonville, Kentucky; and his grandchildren, Tiffany Rock (Tim), Alysa, Dakota, Taylor, Cassidy, Meghan Shane, Seth Wilcox, Brandy, Tyler, Samantha, Olivia Fitch, Stephen Benner (Faith), Meghan Benner and Shelbie Sims. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
Memorials can be made to Dillon Circle Group Home, Fostoria, Alzheimer's Association or Seneca County Humane Society.
