He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Hammer and Helen Hammer (Smith); his stepmother Rita Hammer (Streacker); his brother Ken Hammer; and his brother-in-law Ken Baker.
He is survived by: his spouse Cathe Hammer (Ray); his children, Joe Hammer (Jessica), Gina Shoemaker (Paul), Matt Hammer (Kali) and Brad Hammer (Julie); his grandchildren, Kian, Hudson Hammer, AJ, Braxton, Leah, Macie Shoemaker, Hendrix, Coby, Layla Hammer, Mya, Maddox and Charlie Hammer; and his siblings, David Hammer (Sandy), Diana Phoenix, Tom Hammer (Carol), Bill Hammer (Diane), Lou Coleman (Len), Gerilyn Hammer, Mary Baker, Patie Elchert (Dave), Eileen Hoover (John), Lois Boatman (Jim), Roger Hammer (Deb), Mike Hammer (Vicki) and Barb Fry (Randy). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
