He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Elchert and Bertilla Elchert (Clouse); and his siblings, Darlene Stansberry, Leanilla Filliater, Marvin Elchert and Delmar Dewitt Elchert.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Steinhauser; his children, Greg Elchert (Janet) of New Riegel, Jolene Hicks (Rod) of Tiffin and Brett Elchert (Kristi) of Tiffin; his brother Ronnie Elchert (Mary Jo) of Republic; his sister-in-law Mary Ann Walton (Terry) of Alvada; his grandchildren, Preston Elchert (Jessica Plaugher), Presley Long (Andrew), Tyler Hicks (Stephanie), Brandon Hicks, Brayden Elchert and Bailey Elchert; and his great grandchildren, Quinn, Nash Hicks, Carson, Derrick, Jase Hicks and Prynlee Long. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
