He was predeceased by: his parents, Lummer Smith and Lola Smith (Hicks); his son Andrew Smith; and his siblings, Archie Smith, Andrew Smith and Pearly Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Michelle Kipps (Mike) of Hanover, PA, Justin Smith of Tiffin, Brian Smith of Tiffin and Ashley Sims (Gary) of Bucyrus; his stepson Rob LaChapelle of Toledo; and his siblings, Arthur "Muerl" Smith of Port Clinton, Jerry of Kentucky, Tom of Kentucky, Odell Smith of Kentucky, Rose "Sue" Griffis of Kentucky, Phyllis Ridner of Kentucky and Janie Perry of Kentucky. He is also survived by four grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home (135 N Washington St, Tiffin, OH 44883). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 26th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, March 26th 2025 at the Fairmont Cemetery (1776 N Washington St, Tiffin, OH 44883).
