He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Tiell and Irene Tiell (Homan); his wife Julia Schetter; his children, James Tiell and Lora Tiell; and his brother Harold Tiell.
He is survived by: his children, Thomas Tiell of Tiffin, Francis Tiell of Tiffin, Kenneth Tiell (Julie) of Hopkinsville, Christopher Tiell of Tiffin, Theresa Hall (Charles) of Pitkin and Charlotte Gibson (Bryan) of Jackson; his grandchildren, Michelle DeWeese, Christina Guynn, Michael DeWeese, Kimberly DeWeese, Thomas Beekman, Jamie Coulombe, Branden Beekman, Ace Crawford, Gloria Tucker, Jeremy Crawford and Julia Tiell; and his brothers, Howard Tiell (Shirley) of Tiffin and Carl Tiell (Sandy) of Toledo. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
