It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bernard Schmitz (Tiffin, Ohio), who passed away on December 23, 2018, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his daughter Catherine Munson; his grandson Troy Schmitz; and his sister Mary Ellen Hoepf. He is survived by: his parents, Edward Schmitz and Cecelia Schmitz (Depinet); his spouse Lillian of Jonge April; his children, Colette Scolten (Harry) of Novi, Diana Schmitz of Oregon, Ohio, Daniel Schmitz (Patti) of Tiffin and Timothy Schmitz (Pam) of Fostoria; and his grandchildren, Nathaniel Forney, Nicholas Forney, Jennifer Bates, Jason Schmitz, Tyler Schmitz and Carys Fitzgerald. He is also survived by his numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
