He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Boring and Vera Boring; his grandson Hunter James Barber; and his siblings-in-law, Rose Wolfe and Butch Woods.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Boring; his sons, Eric Boring (Colleen) of Hebron and Terry Boring (Nancy) of Logan; his stepchildren, Holly Hill (Joe) of Pleasantville and Jimmy Barber (Angie) of Thurston; his siblings, Thomas Boring (Joy), Latitia McKinley (Randy), Tina Boring, Tammi Boring, John Boring (Autumn), Andrew Boring (Cheryl) and Craig Boring (Tammy); his siblings-in-law, Mike Woods (Wendy) of Reynoldsburg, Linda Woods of Logan and Sue Woods of Rushville; and his close friend Vance York (Don Elkins). He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
