He was predeceased by: his parents, Harley Knotts and Thelma Westfall Knotts; his siblings, Edgar, Marshall Knotts, Phyllis Hale and Dorothy Toth; and his siblings-in-law, Nancy Knotts, Robert Shelton, Morris Bucan, James Dorsey, Robert Dillon, Ronnie Blake and Cricket Bucan.

He is survived by: his wife Vera Shelton Knotts; his children, Greg Knotts (Sarah) and Kim Knotts; his grandchildren, Kaitlin, Meghan and Melina Knotts; his siblings, Mary Gunderson, Garnette Dorsey and Judy Dillon; and his sisters-in-law, Norma Shelton, Norma Blake and Corky Cook. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Matt's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
