He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl F. Rettberg and Gertrude. He is survived by: his uncle Ludwig; his sister-in-law Marieann Mathias (John Mathias); his friends, Eric and Elaine Schaefer; his wife Elsie Rettberg; his children, Greg Rettberg (Carl) of Green Valley, Dawn Cornell (Patrick) of Marlboro and Jeff Rettberg (Nancy) of Tallmadge, Ohio.; and his grandchildren, Ryan Cornell (Emily Harrison) of Neptune and Meg Cornell of Urbana. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and special friends.
