He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Michael Meznar and Kathryn Meznar; his significant other Gladys Louise Jennewein; his children, Jill Thompson (Lee), Jenifer Christiaanse (Mark) and Marc Meznar (Anita); his granddaughters, Justine O'Dell (Craig), Paige Doak (Matt), Claire Meznar and Juliana Meznar; and his siblings, Leonard Meznar, LaVerne Grizzel and Theodore Meznar.

In 2012, Ronald was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and the couple moved to Toledo, Ohio.
