He was predeceased by: his parent Robin M. Ely; and his grandparents, Robert, Mary Klatt, Neil and Gladys Ely.

He is survived by: his mother Deborah A. Ely (Klatt); his siblings, Deanna Ely, Adrienne Ely (Ahmad), Stephanie Berndt (Jason) and Curtis Ely (Jessica); and his nieces and nephews, Brennen, Alyssa Vasquez, Brysen, Mary, Blake Berndt, Silas Ely and Alecia Laraby.
