He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard G. and Lucille (Koester); and his son Ricky. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie; his children, Suzanne Saggese (Ken) and Steve Visser (Alyssa); his grandchildren, Helen, Jack, Jacob and Jada; and his siblings, Paul Mattson and Carol Denton.

Family suggest donations in Richard's memory be made to St. Jude Medical Center.
