He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Freels and Sarah Freels (Pryor); his wife Joanne Jacobi; and his siblings, Larry, Robert, James Freels, Martha Murphy and Betty Curtis.

He is survived by: his children, Marcia Lewis, Susan Beaver and Jon Freels (Dona); his grandchildren, Amy, Corey, Kevin, Courtney, Katelyn and Adrienne; his great grandchildren, Madasyn, Jacob, Aiden, Austin, Ava, Steven, Jay, Ella, Tyson, KarMyn, Kamrin, Bentley, Luke and Axl; his sisters, Janice Wing and Leatha Muir; and his close friend Karen Daniel.
