He was predeceased by: his parents, Corwin Herman and Ruth Herman (Fausz); and his sisters, Mildred Emery and Florence Wheelden. He is survived by: his wife Carol Herman (Cobb); his children, Robert Herman (Jennifer), Matthew Herman (Jennifer Adam) and Sarah Lewis (Matthew); his grandchildren, Katherine Herman, Benjamin Herman, Ashe Lewis, Rhys Lewis and Eleanora Lewis; and his sister Marcia Herman.
In remembrance of Jim's life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the American Heart Association or the Sylvania First United Methodist Church.
