He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Kimple and Leona Kimple (Blinn); his former wives, Erika and Anita; and his brother Homer John Jr..

He is survived by: his fiancée Linda Lennard; his children, Richard Kimple, Michelle Davis (Tom), Sherman Jr. Kimple (Jamie), Jared Kimple (Angie), Heather Erdody (Eric) and Zachary Lennard (Heather); his brother Vale Kimple (Norma); and his sister-in-law Maryann Kimple. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; many great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 26th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Reeb Funeral Home (5712 Main St, Sylvania, OH 43560). A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. An entombment was held on Thursday, March 27th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Toledo Memorial Park (6382 Monroe St, Sylvania, OH 43560).
