With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dale E. Thatcher of Swanton, Ohio, who passed away on March 14, 2025 at the age of 79. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Dale E. Thatcher to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Thatcher (Bill) and Mabel Thatcher (Osterhout); his sons, Timothy and Thomas Thatcher; and his brothers, Bob and Gary Thatcher.
He is survived by: his wife Lorena Miller; his daughters, Tammy Thatcher and Carlotta Wiemken (Josh Smith); his grandchildren, Justin Thatcher, Marissa Wise (Josh), Andrew Wise (Alexus), Dalton Thatcher (Gretchen), Chelsea Rash (Ken), Xavier, Xander, Katerina Wiemken, Olivia and Amelia Smith; and his siblings, Sharon Thatcher and Brad Thatcher. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as a host of grand-dogs and grand-cats.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Weigel Funeral Homes - Swanton (204 Chestnut St, Swanton, OH 43558). A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lorena Thatcher to create a college fund for his family and for funeral expenses.
