She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard M. Bates and Anna Eschbaugh Bates; her husband Donald Edward McElfresh; her children, Harold, Michael McElfresh and Theresa Kahle; her grandson Travis E. Spires; her great grandchildren, Clara Rose Meyer and Aaron Schnipke; her sons-in-law, Terry Brown and Troy Satterfield; and her siblings, Johnny, Harry, Byron Bates, Olive Starr, Margaret Yoho Ewing and Martha Carpenter.
She is survived by: her daughters, Diane Brown of Caldwell, Judy Spires (Mike) of Caldwell and Barb Satterfield of Nashport; her children-in-law, Dan Kahle of Kalida, OH and Carol Novak of Byesville, OH; and also Brenda Wise of Summerfield. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
