He is survived by: his children, Michelle Lax of Colorado, David Smith of Sullivan, Richard Smith (Wendi) of Georgia and Ross Kinter of Grafton; and his brother Kenneth Smith (Sonja) of Amherst. He is also survived by twenty two grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren.
