He was predeceased by: his parents, John Spencer and Helen Elizabeth Cook Steenrod; and his brothers, Dale Eugene and Thomas Edward Steenrod. He is survived by: his children, James Steenrod of Columbus and Tracie Venrick of Sugar Grove; his grandchildren, Grace Daniels (Nick), Ryan Venrick, Landon Venrick and Ashley Venrick; his great grandchildren, Bella, Jace, Noah and Rhett; and his brother Robert Lowell Steenrod (Kathryn) of Athens.
