She was predeceased by: her brother Daniel Berger. She is survived by: her children, Peter Michael Smith (Diane), Brian Joseph Smith (Wakako) and Kelli Marie Penick (Daniel); her sister-in-law Janet Berger; and her close friend Charles DePalmo. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren.
