He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Turek and Mary Vasko Turek; his wife Joanne Marie DeNiro; his former wife Karen Glozer; and his siblings, Geraldine Hoffman and James Turek.

He is survived by: his children, Susan Filipovich of Youngstown, Lisa Francis of Boardman and Gary Turek (Brenda) of Boardman; his grandchildren, Sarah, Matthew Filipovich, Macy Francis and Jacob Turek; and his sons-in-law, John Filipovich and Louis Francis.
