He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Apgar and Gwendolyn Rice Apgar; his stepchildren, Patty Apgar and Tony Sams; his siblings, Kenny and Marcella Neu; and his stepgrandchildren, Stephanie and Zachary Howell.
He is survived by: his wife Diana L. Jones; his stepson Tyler Arranz (Meanie); his sons, Edwin E., Raymond Apgar (Erin Teubner) and Sam Apgar (Larissa Moorenweiser); his siblings, Sonny (Terry Fox), Blare, Howard, Russell Apgar, Margaret Apgar and Shirley Reynolds (Ryan); his grandchildren, Peyton, Alexis, Adyson, Shelby, Gage, Shyanne, Colin, Dakota, Hannah and Savannah; his great grandchildren, Oliver and Scarlett; his stepgrandsons, Trenton, Jake and Joseph; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Abigail, Tucker, Clayton and Braelynn.
Gene's family request that in lieu of flowers donations in his name be made to Tri State Marine Detachment #494, at 152 Argyle Avenue in Boardman, OH, 44512-2316 or to the Disabled American Veterans local chapter Youngstown #2 at 1610 Idaho Road in Austintown, OH 44515.
