He was predeceased by: his wife Rita. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Ashley, Alexander, Hannah, Gregory, Sarah, Corinne, David Michael III, Daphne, Austin and Brandon; and his children, Michelle Weber, Kathleen Leestma (Brian), Michael (Laura), David Jr. (Jessica), Joseph (Brooke) and Tommy (Kasandra).

Visitation was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jardine Funeral Home (15822 Pearl Rd, Strongsville, OH 44136). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (12700 Pearl Rd, Strongsville, OH 44136). A burial was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 12:45 PM at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery (10175 Rawiga Rd, Seville, OH 44273).
