He was predeceased by: his parents, James W. Caughey and Gwendolyn "Dolly" Caughey (Wilhelm); his wife Judy L. Wardell; his son Michael Caughey; and his brother Butch Caughey.
He is survived by: his children, Jim Caughey (Renee) of Dover and Colleen Hostetler (Jonas) of Fredericksburg; his grandchildren, Adam, Emily, Olivia, Scotty, Elizabeth and Jordan; and his brother Doug Caughey (Debbie) of Canton.
