He was predeceased by: his father James Bache; his stepfather Lloyd Bache; his wife Phyllis Infield Gray Shaffer; and his siblings, Nancy, Harold (Bud), Glenn and James.

He is survived by: his daughter Rhonda Shaffer; and his siblings, Shirley Landis and Charles Shaffer (Vera).
