Gene C. Hensel Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gene C. Hensel of Strasburg, Ohio, born in Canton, Ohio, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 16, 2025 at the age of 87. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clete Hensel and Kathryn Mosher Hensel; and his sisters, Virginia Deuker, Mary Bitikofer, Betty Flatley, Mildred Davis and Diana Harper.
He is survived by: his wife Vina Hensel; his children, Douglas Hensel (Michelle Festi), Lynn Durbin (Mike) and Chris Hensel (Chrissie); his grandchildren, Jennifer Portmann (Jeremy), Jace Hensel (Carrie), Stephanie Garcia (Chris), Jessica Barkley (Scott), Kaitlin Johnson (Eric), Emily Barker (Matt) and Evan Hensel (Giovanna); his great grandchildren, Autumn, Noelle, Finley Portmann, Braxton, Aria Goehring, Kase Barkley, Recie, Margaret Johnson, Zachery, Alexandria, Jacob Garcia, Josie and Bennett Barker; his stepgrandchildren, Drake and Presley Wilson; his siblings, Bill Hensel, Bob Hensel (Rita), Wanda Wells (Dave) and Carol Murphy; and his brothers-in-law, Jim Harper and Dick Deuker. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the New Pointe Community Church (3950 OH-39, Dover, OH 44622).
