With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Russell P. Oakes (Stow, Ohio), who passed away on January 17, 2025 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Russell has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Urban Oakes and Matilda Oakes; and his wife Marilyn Oakes. He is survived by: his children, Donald Oakes (Dorene), Paul Oakes, Diane Oakes and Linda Nash; and his grandchildren, Jim Oakes (Renata) and Laura Klingbeil (James). He is also survived by six great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dunn-Quigley Stow Chapel (3333 Kent Rd, Stow, OH 44224). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Family Catholic Church (3179 Kent Rd, Stow, OH 44224). A burial will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at the Silver Springs Cemetery (5080 Stow Rd, Stow, OH 44224).
