He was predeceased by: his father Leonard Stapleton; and his siblings, Homer, William, Bobby Stapleton, Marie McKenzie, Loraine Stanley and Betty Taylor.
He is survived by: his wife Connie Stapleton; his children, Jimmy Wayne Stapleton, Kimberly Hannah and Carrie Long; his grandchildren, Corey, Dylan, Dale, Emily, Brianna, Chelsea and Katie; his great grandchildren, Jude, Jonas, Lexi, Shylar, Herman Dale V, Scarlet, James and Malcom; and his brothers, Howard and Glenn Stapleton.
