He was predeceased by: his parents, Gideon Brown and Minnie Brown (Duncan); his wife Martha A. "Georgie" Brown; and his siblings, Robert, Harold, Clarence, James Brown and Mary Stover.

He is survived by: his children, Don Brown (Denise) of Cross Plains, TX, Richard "Rich" Brown (Annette), Miriam Elliott, Wanda Bear (Jeff) and Kathy Furlong (Mike); and his grandchildren, Christy Dolinger, James Brown, Clare Fabrizio, Taylor Brown, Gwinn Elliott, Kelli Bear and Kenneth Furlong.
