He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Kandel and Alma Sommers Kandel; his grandson Seth Meechan; his brother Glenn Kandel; and his sisters-in-law, Bonnie and Barb Kandel.
He is survived by: his wife Darlene S. Davy; his children, Brenda Egler (David) of Port Washington and David Kandel (Bonnie) of New Philadelphia; his grandchildren, Alyssia Perrotta (Robert), Kayleigh Kail and T. J. Meechan; his great grandchild Ophelia; and his siblings, Minnie Riffle (Bruce) of Cataula, Georgia, Nancy (Jim Schneider), Robert of New Philadelphia and Clarence Kandel of New Philadelphia. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
