He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth Meyer Ashbrook and Encyl Ashbrook; his siblings, Carol Anne Ashbrook and Thomas Lee Ashbrook; and his former wife Betty Ashbrook.

He is survived by: his wife Anna Ashbrook; his children, Peg Alexis (Tom), Judy Bretz (Don) and Jan Ashbrook; his grandchildren, Chris Alexis (Andrea), Ryan Alexis (Meg), Eric Bretz and Sarah Ashbrook; and his great grandchildren, Tyler, Lakelyn Ashbrook-Burns, Jonah, Willa Alexis and Ben Alexis. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
