He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Strobel and Carrie McConnell Strobel; and his brother James Strobel. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn A. Short Strobel; his children, Robert C. Strobel (Diane), Gary J. Strobel (Debra) and Lisa A. Vargo; his grandchildren, Michael Seth Vargo, Ally Ray Vargo, Alexis Strobel and Joshua Strobel; his siblings, Darryl Strobel (Elizabeth) and Cheryl Connery (Thomas); and his sister-in-law Donna Strobel.
