She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Mendelson and Helen Mendelson (Ames); her son Steven; her siblings, Mabel Dempsey, David Mendelson and Lee Mendelson; and her husband Judge John R. Spon.
She is survived by: her child Dorothy; and her grandchildren, Attorney Gaither DeLuca (Attorney Donald) of Sanibel, Florida, Megan Baker (Rick) of Decatur, Georgia, Brittany Welfle (Josh) of Norwalk, Ohio, Morgen Spon, Jonathan Spon (Jacqueline) of Columbus, Ohio, Garret Selfinger, Joel Selfinger (Kailee), Sean Selfinger (Jacqueline) and Brian Selfinger of Columbus. She is also survived by mother, Dorothy's children rise up and call her "Blessed," for having been such a devoted mother.
