He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hersko and Mary Sklenar Hersko; his brother John E. Hersko; his sister-in-law Becky Hersko; and his nephew John E. Hersko.

He is survived by: his nephew Donald R. Hersko (Wendy); and his great-niece Amy K. Hersko (Nick Brady).
