He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Marty and Grace Marty (Gasser); his siblings, Joyce Stoller, Dean, Larry and Ralph Marty; and his siblings-in-law, Madge Marty, Eugene Bachman, Bill Gasser and Fred Stoller.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce E. Shoup; his children, Beverly Kirchhofer (Mark) of New Lebanon, Steven Marty (Natalie) of Smithville, Douglas Marty (Dee) of Smithville, Holly Richardson (Tim) of Orrville and Amy Hescht (Jesse Dowell) of Smithville; and his siblings, Doris Gasser, Robert Marty (Loretta), Carolyn Marty, Kathryn Bachman, Eileen Stoller (Bob), Roger Marty and Galen Marty (Nancy). He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren.
