He was predeceased by: his parents, Avery Shorter and Nancy Shorter (Johnson); and his siblings, Nan Gordon, Lois Fuller, Eddie Shorter, Lawrence Shorter and Richard Shorter.
He is survived by: his wife Marcia Jean; his children, Tamberly Porter (Don) of Wadsworth, Elizabeth Reynolds (Chuck) of Effingham, IL, Jesse Shorter, Jr. of Rittman, David Shorter (Dianah) of Rittman and Tracey Nutter (Gary) of West Salem; his adoptive son Jeff Nelson of Sterling; his siblings, Jack Shorter, Jerry Shorter and Dianne Pierce (Jackie); and his siblings-in-law, Ed Fuller and Angie Shorter of Parma. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren.
