With heavy hearts, we announce the death of David Carl Maurer of Sterling, Ohio, born in Wooster, Ohio, who passed away on September 26, 2021 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Whitaker and Greta Christable Yoder Maurer; and his brother Marcus Maurer. He is survived by: his wife Brenda K. Hartman; his children, Wendy Simmons (Shawn) of Dalton and Brett Maurer (Jwana) of Smithville; and his grandchildren, Brady Maurer, Chloe Simmons, Meileina Simmons, Damian Galehouse and Angel Parks.

“We were deeply saddened to hear of Dave's passing. Dave was a superintendent for us at Bogner Construction for many years. I had the pleasure of working for him in my younger years while in High School/College. He was a tough and determined worker. I recall messing something up and boy was he mad! After he calmed down he helped me and illustrated why I did it wrong. I learned quite a bit and definitely learned to measure twice and cut once!. Your family is in our prayers. - Brian Bogner”
