He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Sr. Buss and Frances Mary Buss (Zook); his son-in-law Tim Boals; and his brothers, Walter, Wayne and John.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley Hickman; his children, Kevin, Joyce Buss of Wooster, Bruce, Jolene Buss of Smithville, Garry Buss of Long Beach, CA, Sheri Boals of Wooster, Paula and Travis McFadden of Wooster; his grandchildren, Jamie Buss, Shawna Smithberger, Taylor Buss, Kramer Buss, Morgan Buss, Kayla Duncan, Hannah Lester, Kelsie McFadden and Savannah McFadden; and his great grandchildren, Braylon, Layla, Ava Smithberger and Julia Buss.
