He was predeceased by: his parents, Sterling Massengill and Bessie Massengill (Leonard); his son-in-law Paul Durst; his grandson Larry Hall, Jr.; and his sisters, Bonnie Lanham, Marie Fultz and Nancy Fultz.
He is survived by: his daughter Glenda Durst; his granddaughters, Renae Hall Mercer (James) and Kellie Crego (Luke); his great grandchildren, Seth Hall and Kimber Crego; his siblings, Stanley Massengill, Rethie Price, Lucille Sandefur, Juanita Seals (Bill) and Vivian Fultz; his sister-in-law Geneva Massengill; and his brothers, Lonnie, Frank and Johnny Massengill.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 26th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel (937 N Broad St, Tazewell, TN 37879). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 26th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, March 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Bethel Cemetery.
