With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Essie Murphy of Springfield, Ohio, who passed away on January 20, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Cromer and Sweetie Cromer (Daniels); her husband William "Bill" Murphy; her daughter Mary Carter; and her siblings, Anna Ruth Austin, Pauline Crowley and Richard Cromer.
She is survived by: her sons, Steven Murphy of Springfield and George Brown (Nancy) of Fairborn; her grandchildren, Monique McCrystal, Billy Earley and Keith Earley; her sisters, Bernice "Bunny" Stream of Springfield, Ohio, Joy Portman of Springfield, Ohio and Rosemary Williams of Springfield, Ohio; and her nieces, Angela Peterson (Craig) and Barbara Brown (Sandra "Sandy" Wynn). She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home (527 S Center St, Springfield, OH 45506). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at the Ferncliff Cemetery (501 W McCreight Ave, Springfield, OH 45504).
