He was predeceased by: his parents, Beatrice Leah (Payne) and William Clifford Strain; his brother Doyle William; his sister-in-law June Strain; and his sister Donna Jo Wilson.
He is survived by: his children, Douglas William Strain of Morgantown Indiana, Karen Leah (Drew Titone) and Cheryl Louise (Todd Spencer); the mother of his children Marie Y. Strain; his nephew Randy Wilson (Jody); his niece Diana Lynne Hutcheson (Tony); and his grandchildren, William Nicolas, Mason, Samantha Jo (Scott), Collins Rae, Anthony Jordan (Lauren) and Madison Grace.
