With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dennis Thornton of Springfield, Ohio, born in Shelby, Ohio, who passed away on August 3, 2023 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Thornton and Ruby Thornton; and his siblings, Dreama, Keith and Kenne.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Thornton of Springfield; his stepchildren, Cristlyn Johnston of Liberty Township, Craig (Erica Browning), Timothy, Kinzie Carter of Mutual, Todd (Elizabeth Carter) and Thomas Carter of Troy; his sisters, Peggy and Cindy; and his grandchildren, Abbigail and Ethan. He is also survived by ten step grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Dennis's name to the Mad River Township Fire and Ems.
