He was predeceased by: his parents, Wiley Franklin Akers and Clara Belle Zinck Akers; his wife Ruth Dean Wilson Akers; and his sister Martha Jane Akers Kendrick. He is survived by: his children, Jeemes Akers (Imogene), Vicki Kuhn (Edward), Tricia Lathrop (Norman), Debbie Barton and Katy Skaggs (Dennis); his grandchildren, Kimberly Payne, Jennifer Lathrop, Aimee Woodin, Brett Skaggs, Robert Lathrop, Amanda Sjodin, Bethany Curtis and Jed Barton; and his close friends, Linda Butcher, Howard (HoJo) and Marlene Johnson. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
