He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Wells and Jane Wells (Murnane); his granddaughter Ashley Brown; his in-laws, Thurman and Terry Burris; his brother-in-law Rick Carpenter; and his friend John Lorenz.

He is survived by: his wife Colleen Wells (Burris); his children, Larry R. Wells (Lisa Clark) and Nicole Brown (Ken); his granddaughter Brittany Weger (Tristan); his siblings, Mark Wells (Joni), Ginny, Roxanne and Connie; and his great-nephews, Mike Brennan and Bob Fogarty. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
