She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert A. Bechdolt and Gladys Bechdolt (Belcher); her husband Carl Barnhart; her son-in-law Thomas VanZant; and her siblings, Robert Bechdolt and Betty Mattix.
She is survived by: her children, Jon Sharp (Ruth Ann) and Carol VanZant; her stepdaughters, Cathy Fogt and Sharon Williamson; and her grandchildren, Thomas VanZant Jr. (Wanda), Terri Marvin (Steve), David VanZant (Dawn), Karla Myers (Bryan), Matt Sharp and Jenny McIntosh (Ryan). She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
